3.3Lampe

Smart homes have become part of the modern lifestyle. The brightness of the lights, the range of light, and the shape of the lamps can be controlled by gestures in any part of the room.

Problem

How does a user need to turn on a light and have to go through a button? Then the position of the button constitutes the way in which the user turns on the light. If there must be an object or button in the middle to activate the switch, then the object that activates the switch needs to be set in a natural interaction pattern. This is ergonomic and psychological.

Research

  • Modern lighting issues

Lamps are an essential product in home life. Lamps have both practical and decorative functions.

1 Fixed position for turning lights on and off.

2 Strongly decorative luminaires take up space.

  • User requirements and range of light

Research to understand the habits of users in their home life. The range of lighting needs is investigated through the different habits.

Eating: need a range of light not wide but a warm atmosphere.Sleeping: dim lighting, light can be directed towards the roof. Or turn it off.Reading: light in one corner. Bright and preciseWatching TV: diffused light in the room.Playing games: diffused light illumination or bright illumination. Protect your eyes.Gathering: free to adjust the light irradiation range.

  • The user's switching needs.

Switching the lights on and off is a basic user interaction based on demand.

Interview

KINEMIC GMBH

During this interview, I learned:

Smart devices can optimize quality of life and will become more important in design in the future. Gesture control is one of the most important intelligent control methods of the future. Gesture control is fun for users and easy to use. Lighting is also still important for us. The combination of gesture control and lighting. Gesture control also plays a very important role in the future of work.

  • Inspiration

The second semester of postgraduate studies utilizes a natural form of interaction - gestures - to control the OLED lamp while allowing the position of the lamp to be controlled. An improvement of the gesture-based OLED lamp. Turning a fixed switch into an arbitrary switch in space.

  • Inspiration

Use natural interaction to activate the switch. Natural human interaction methods include voice control and gesture control.

Model

Kinect technology testing

Set up gestures and luminaire functions based on everyday human behaviors. Simulating gestures at fixed points in space. Also do sample data collection.
